This circa 1800 farmhouse in York County, Pennsylvania, now sits next to a busy rural road, but its charm is not diminished by its 21st century surroundings.  In 1854, the original property was expanded through the purchase of several adjacent tracts of land to form a fully functioning, 40 acre farm.  The sturdy house, detached country kitchen (which was added in 1882) and a nearby springhouse, were all built with 18”-thick brownstone quarried from Brownstone Quarry near Middletown.
